Dry needling is a physiotherapy technique that involves inserting fine, sterile needles into trigger points or tight muscle bands to relieve pain, improve mobility, and promote healing.

It targets myofascial tension and stimulates natural recovery processes, offering effective treatment for musculoskeletal conditions.

Shockwave therapy

Shockwave therapy treatments are offered at LivWell.

It is recommended to have 3-5 sessions of shockwave, with a frequency of 1x per week

What is shockwave therapy?

Shockwave therapy utilizes high-energy acoustic waves to stimulate the body's natural healing response. These waves are applied externally to the affected area, penetrating into the tissue. This stimulation promotes increased blood flow, the formation of new blood vessels, and the release of growth factors, ultimately aiding in tissue regeneration and pain relief.

Here are some conditions that may benefit from shockwave therapy. This list is not exhaustive.

  • Achilles tendinitis

  • Bursitis

  • Calcific tendonitis or Calcific deposits

  • Frozen Shoulder / Capsulitis

  • Golfer’s elbow
